Rokoko Kitsch Korsett

Ich konnte es nicht lassen. Ich hatte noch ein Stück Toile de Jouy rumliegen, aus dem ich ursprünglich ein Täschchen herstellen wollte, wobei mich der Elan verlassen hat. Anstatt dessen hab ich nach PI 511 eine Rokoko Kitsch Schnürbrust draus gemacht. Garantiert unauthentisch aber Spaß hat's gemacht. :) Und untendrunter sieht's ja auch keiner. Und ja, ich werde sogar noch Metallösen reinmachen. *smile* Und ich bin grade am planen von etwas weniger kitschigen Jumps. Wäsche-Fieber!!

I simply couldn't resist this Toile de Jouy - initially I planned to make bag from it but somehow got the hang of making a pair of Rococo kitschy stays from it and here they are. As unauthentic as it can get but well, who knows, it's underneath anyway- and it was great fun!!! I am even going to insert metal grommets some time soon. Also I am in the progress of working on a pair of less kitschy jumps, it's undie fever these days over here!!! :)

JPR Rococo stays

Nach einiger Mühe mit dem Anpassen sind endlich meine JPR Stays fertiggeworden. Und nach 3.5 Probeteilen bin ich endlich zufrieden mit dem Endprodukt. Ich habe den Schnitt insoweit abgeändet, dass ich eine Frontschnürung eingefügt habe (da der Schnitt aber eine frontale mittige Naht vorsieht, ist das kein grosser Aufwand). Ich hoffe, sie sind auch bequem!!! :) Ansonsten bin ich mit dem Schnitt sehr zufrieden und werd ihn bestimmt nochmal benutzen (nachdem ich ja jetzt endlich "meine" Maße raus hab...). Ich habe 1 Lage weissen Coutil mit feinem Herringbone Streifen benutzt, 1 Lage beiger Köper und 1 Lage Leinen als Futter.Und Unmengen Stahlband, sie sind vollversteift. :) Diesen Schnitt werde ich bestimmt nochmal verwenden. Jaaa, das TShirt knürschtelt (gehört ja auch eigentlich ne Chemise drunter!) und die Schnürung wird auch noch durch ne weisse ersetzt und ordentlich gemacht, aber das sind Winzigkeiten!)

I somehow decided I needed a  fully boned pair of stays. So I started with the JPR stay pattern. 3.5 versions finally led me to a result that was to my liking. I found it quite tricky though to get them right, I found the front piece rather slim and the back piece quite high  But otherwise than that, I can really recommend the pattern. I used coutil, twill and linen as lining. And an enormous amount of steel boning. :) I am definitely going to use this pattern again. As you see, I have also inserted af front lacing, which can be easily done because the pattern in not cut on the fold in the front but has a seam anyway.

Laughing Moon #100 Dore

Endlich habe ich es geschafft, das Dore Corset vom Laughing Moon Schnittmuster #100 fertigzustellen. Angefangen hatte ich schon vor mehr als 1 Monat, aber dann fehlte Federstahl, dann waren plötzlich die Ösen zu wenig... aber JETZT ist es fertig und ich finde den Schnitt SUPER! Er passt der Puppe überhaupt nicht (wg. des stark unterschiedlichen Squishability factors, denke ich), aber mir sehr gut, nur... ich hab wohl abgenommen und anstatt 2-3" Lücke geht es jetzt hinten satt zusammen. Naja, das läßt sich ja schnell ändern... Schokolade, ich komme! ;) Ich finde den Schnitt besser als das Silverado, das mit den Brustkeilen ist irgendwie nix für mich. Und es ist wirklich superbequem!

FINALLY I have managed to finish the Dore Corset following Laughing Moon pattern # 100. More than a month have done all sorts of things and this project was left alone... due to problems with missing material... but NOW - It is great. Fits really comfy (although I seem to have lost weight... the mock up had a 2-3" gap and now it goes together easily in the back (mock up too...), but no problem, I can't resist chocolate for a long time...).
Anyway, I like the Dore better than the Silverado Corset, the bust gores just don't seem to work for me. I'd say, this is THE corset pattern. Fits superwell and is comfy, goes together so easily and looks great.

Rococo undies

Das komplette "Untendrunter" für mein "Basis-" Rokoko-Outfit ist nun fertig: Chemise (zusätzlich Tunnelzug am Ausschnitt), Stays, Taschen (alle nach La Fleur de Lyse)  und das Hüftkissen (von Wingeo #207) für die schöne runde Auspolsterung. :)

1750s Chemise and Stays

Stück für Stück arbeitet ich mich bei meinem 1750er Outfit weiter. Ich habe die Chemise (englischer Stil, Schmittmuster La Fleur de Lyse 18102) und die Stays (hellbeiger Köper mit leicht blauen Streifen, Period Impressions #511) fertiggestellt s.u. Eigentlich waren die Stays nur das Probemodell, aber ich mochte den Stoff dann doch sooo gern, dass es dabei bleibt. Das Period Impressions Schnittmuster fällt etwa 2 Nummern kleiner aus...  läßt sich aber sehr gut anpassen und geht auch sehr einfach und schnell zusammen. Damit werde ich sicherlich nochmal arbeiten. :)

Bit by bit I am working on my 1750s outfit. I have finished the Chemise (english style) and the Stays following La fleur de Lyse pattern 18102 and for the Stays Period Impressions #511. The chemise is made of light white linen, the stays are of cotton twill, it is light beige with bluish stripes, I just loved the fabric... it was meant as a scrap but I liked it this way. :) The stay patterns runs somewhat large... i had to go 2 sizes down. But it goes together really easy and is easy to adjust. Definitely a patterns I will work with again. :)

Endlich ein paar Meter weniger auf meinem Stoffhaufen. Ich habe nach dem Laughing Moon Schnittmuster gearbeitet und bin wieder mal begeistert. Klare Beschreibungen, einfache Methoden, schönes Ergebnis) finde ich). Gut, ich hätte noch mal drüberbügeln können. :)

Finally some meters of my big heap of fabrics has made it into Victorian undies. I have used Laughing Moon patterns and as usual I am very pleased with them. But see the result of it here: Chemise, Drawers and Corsets.

La Mode Bagatelle

Ich habe nochmal neue Unterkleider angefertig, mit den anderen war ich nicht so zufrieden - die waren so störrisch! Also, das schwarze ist aus Leinen und nach dem Schnittmuster 513 von Period Impressions angefertigt. Das weisse Kleid ist nach La Mode Bagatelle aus gekämmter Baumwolle. Obwohl die Weite vom La Mode Bagatelle etwa 8 inch zu viel waren , bin ich insgesamt mit dem Sitz zufriedener als mit dem Period Impressions.

I have made 2 new underdresses because the old ones behaved badly. I was following La Mode Bagatelle (white cotton lawn) and Period Impressions 513 (black linen). Although being 8inches too wide, I like the outcome of the Mode Bagatelle dress better.

Victorian Silverado Corset

Ein weiteres Nähprojekt hat endlich Gestalt angenommen. Ich habe zum ersten Mal nach dem LM100 Korsettschnittmuster von Laughing Moon ein viktorianisches Korsett gefertigt und ich bin begeistert von dem Schnitt. Er geht wirklich einfach zusammen, grossartig! Die Grössenangaben sind etwas grosszügig, man kann locker eine Grösse abziehen... :) An der Puppe geht's nicht soweit  zu, wie in echt (squishability factor...), ich habe bei mir nur 1'' Lück.

I have finished another sewing project: the victorian corset. I used the Silverado by Laughing Moon patterns (LM100) and it went together really smoothly. Only sizes run somewhat large, in the end I went one size down to make it fit properly. In reality the gap in the back is only 1".

kleine schwarze Tournüre

Hab ganz vergessen, dass ich neulich (vor so nem Monat...) auch noch eine kleine schwarze Tournüre genäht habe (weil meine grosse weisse vom Hochzeitskleid mir manchmal doch ziemlich gross vorkommt... und ich wollt eh ne schwarze haben). Sie basiert auf dem Schnitt NP09 und dazu habe ich den Overlay von TV101 genommen und dann noch eine Bahn vorne dran gesetzt, weil ich keine lust auf einen extra Unterrock hatte. ;)

Wie angekündigt hier noch ein paar Bilder von neuen Kreationen, alle im Empire/Regency Stil.

hier ein sogenannter "bodiced Petticoat", der unter den hauchzarten Kleidern getragen wurde.
